My students need literacy-based instruction but finding engaging sociological reading is tough. Trevor Noah's Born a Crime is a narrative, written in a style that students can relate to. Finding material that students are not only able but excited to read is a challenge. Challenge accepted. By donating to my project, you are giving my students books. This classroom set of Born a Crime will be used year after year with my students. Each student will have their own copy of the text, allowing them to move at their pace or participate as we read as a group. Additionally, my ESL students will be able to read and hear the text, building their cognition skills.
