Weight-Lifting Equipment for a State Champion Football Team: Phase 2
Funded May 9, 2022Physical fitness seemed to have taken a back-seat during the pandemic. Many students did not participate in any physical activities for over a year. When they returned to school, the weight-lifting equipment, which was already in ill-repair had gotten worse due to non-use and abuse.
The brand new equipment you generously provided for our students made the difference. Students come to the work-out room on a daily basis to train and tone. The equipment has that "new smell" which the students recognized right away and claim that it motivates them to return often. Many students came back from the pandemic with little muscle mass and because of your generous contribution have now had the opportunity to burn away their body fat while building muscle mass and toning up. Our award winning football team also utilizes the equipment in their daily workout routines.
Because of you and all you've done, our students are stronger, healthier and have a better self image of themselves. The football team has had far fewer injuries since they started working out on the new equipment. The students, athletes, coaches and I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity.”

Funded Sep 13, 2018Thanks to you, my students are more actively engaged in physical science. It seems as thought they actually like doing their laboratory and class assignments on the tablets. In addition, the students can do research on the Internet, use a fabulous scientific calculator app, take pictures during the experiments and email the entire assignment to me via the school's WI-Fi (saving time and paper). Since the tablets became a part of my classroom's curriculum, my student's test scores have greatly improved. They are learning more and retaining more. This is fantastic progress, and I owe it to all of you!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018With the ever increasing use of technology in the classroom, inner-city schools seem to have fallen behind concerning this trend. With funds being scarce and used for other important school initiatives, your most generous donation has helped my students by providing technology in the classroom that they might otherwise not have exposure to. You have enabled my students to do basic science research in the classroom using the school's Wi-Fi, and provided them with a new way of approaching the scientific method.
The students are excited about having the new technology and their averages have already started to increase. This is primarily due to the fact that the information is right here and they do not have to go to the library to obtain it. And since many of the students do not have access to a computer at home, they now have the opportunity to complete assignments which they did not have access to previously.
Thank you once again for your generosity.”

Funded Oct 28, 2017Thanks to your most generous donations, my students have made great strides in their science education. After sitting for the Quarterly Assessment Test 1, data indicates that scores were measured at or above the school district average.
The statics also show that when students have the correct tools, their level of competence increases. In addition, since Physical Science is the building block for all other sciences taught on the high school level. With this fact in mind, it is expected that grades in Biology, Physics and Chemistry will also improve.
Your donation will have a lasting effect for all my students.”

ChromeBooks For Gizmos
Funded Nov 28, 2016New trends in education indicate that technology in the classroom is the teaching tool of the future. Technology in the classroom amplifies a hands-on approach to data collecting, provides virtual experiments which aid understanding of difficult topics and the ability to perform scientific research without leaving ones seat.
Many students do not have Internet service in their home and must rely on the school's WiFi to complete the tasks cited above. Using the Chromebook computers which you have so graciously provided, more students can utilize innovative on-line programs, i.e., Gizmo's, while in the classroom setting. This increases participation, raises student grades (simply by competing the assignment) and improves student GPAs.
Those students who used the Chromebooks cannot seem to put them down. Once they get involved in the Chromebook's use, it becomes a sort of competition to see who can complete their assignments in a timely fashion. The Chromebooks make my students think that HOMEWORK IS FUN! I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to utter in this educational change.”
