Supporting Students Mental Health
Funded Aug 12, 2024Thank you for your generous donations of bean bags and wobble chairs. I have been able to create a welcoming and relaxing corner for my students. Students are also using the area as alternative seating during class time. The wobble chairs and bean bags are always occupied,. Students try to get to class as early as possible to make their claim. Please know my students were very surprised and excited about the additional seating. They have requested more beans bags. We all appreciate what your donation has made possible.”

Funded Jul 19, 2019Thank you so much for the donations you have made. We have already put many of the materials purchased to good use. Currently we are working on our third team research project. Students are getting the hang of working in teams and depending on each other to complete these research topics. The purpose of the teams is for students to teach each other, discuss and finally complete a culminating written portion for their project. If they do not work as a team they will not succeed.
Team work is not something they are used to, but we are finally making some headway in expectations for final team results. These projects take a lot of effort from students and a lot of constant feedback from me to help students succeed. I have high expectations for student growth by the end of the school year.
My students were very excited when they learned they had received these materials for "free". I overhear conversations regarding how they should take care of the items so they will last longer. They are very appreciative and this makes me proud.
The next steps we will take include making projects come to life by creating three-dimensional portion. This will allow for expansion of creativity as many students are crafty and artistic.
We cannot thank you enough for making such a big difference in our class.”

Mrs. Kow
