  • Pre-K Engineers and Architects

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations. Our class has completed a unit on animal habitats, the students were so engaged in the unit due to magna tiles and the foam blocks especially. The students were able to create a stable and other animal habitats by using those manipulatives. The students were also able to use click builders classic prism to create different habitats at their tables. Watching the students complete these tasks was the assessment I needed to know that the students understood what was taught. The Clorox disinfectant wipes are SO NECESSARY to keep our tables, chairs and toys clean and germ free.

When my students first saw the toys they were overjoyed and filled with gratitude!!! They take care of their manipulatives.

Our next unit is on light , I am excited to see how the children will use mini lightbulbs inside the magna tiles and use the click builders classic prism against the window in daylight.”

    With gratitude,

  • Performing Play in Pre-K

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

My students ands I are so very thankful for the donations. We have just completed a unit on transportation and the Transportation rug , traffic signs, the dot paint, the railway set and 30 pc bucket of transportation vehicles made the unit come to life in our class. We were able to create a railroad station, a town with actual traffic signs and lights, a garage. The dot paint was used for the traffic lights. While these students worked on the railway set, the other students were able to work on the counting puzzles, and the colorful links. The students were able to "Perform in Pre-K"

When my students first saw the materials they were amazed and grateful for all of the supplies, they really enjoy these supplies and care for them.

Our next unit is on light. Therefore, the headlights on the cars, the traffic lights that we will use on the road with our self created street lights will work very well.”

  • Quill Me, Paper and Cleaning Supplies Needed!

    Funded Sep 21, 2017

My students and I are so grateful for the supplies that we have received. The soap and paper towels allow us to prepare for snack time quick and easily. The antibacterial wipes make cleaning up quick, fun and easy and germ reducing!

The copy paper allows my students to print designs they have created on various websites, and it allows for me,their teacher to make Teacher Created Materials for differentiation in our classroom. The generous contributions have allowed all of my students to achieve more.

My students were in awe when we received our packages. It opened up a discussion about "paying it forward." My students believe that there are great people in our society.

We plan to reuse cardboard from the paper towel rolls for an Earth 🌎 Day project. We are truly appreciative for your generosity.”

  • Kindergarten Creations

    Funded Dec 16, 2016

My students and I are so humbled by your kindness. The printer helps my students by allowing them to print out their work from the Internet, it also allows them to have input in the differentiated worksheets that will be printed out for their usage. Having a say in the work that they are completing has had a positive impact on all of my students. They are able to explain what they have done, and why they have chosen to do their work a certain way. I am able to see the creative and academic growth in each and every student. The children understand how to operate the printer and they realize it is not a toy but a very important asset to our classroom.

My students are so excited to be able to print their art work from educational sites and print documents they have created on Google Drive. My kindergarten students have amazed me. I knew my students were at different levels but to watch them take a story they have written, and take their time to type it in and save it on Google Drive is outstanding. They enjoy seeing their work being printed out from the printer.

We are very thankful that we have enough paper to print the necessary work. Being able to print student work has motivated all of my students. Whenever they are working on the the computer, they are very focused. They only want to print their best work.

My students and I are so grateful to have the paper and the printer in our classroom.”

  • Kindergarten in Ink

    Funded Dec 16, 2016

My students have become great researchers since they have received the chrome book. They ask google many different questions, such as, why is the sky blue? Is it going to be cold tomorrow? When is spring coming? My students also enjoy using the many different educational sites. They are able to use starfall.com, abcya.Com,pbskids.com; Oh and I cannot forget the wonderful read aloud on youtube.com. The children enjoy this interactive part of the day.

The students are very pleased that they are able to print out some of their work, with the ink that was donated to us. My students go on the pbskids website and create paintings that they can print. This makes them very excited, and proud of their work. Their faces are filled with happiness and pride.

I had a few students, about 3, that did not like to write in class, however with the chrome book, they are exposed to more educational sites and are able to spell more words. This has given these students more confidence in themselves, they are beginning to show improvement in all subject areas.

The ink and chrome book are helping my intuitive students excel, even more than they were before. We are truly grateful for your generous donation to us.”

  • Stuffing and Fluffing Pre-k Field Trip

    Funded Apr 4, 2015

My students were so surprised and overjoyed about going to Build A Bear workshop! As the school bus drove up to the property, one girl exclaimed, "I love this place! I went here with my aunty". She began to tell the other children what they were going to do and the fun that they would all have; she said you can make your bear, kiss it , love it, and dress it. Once the students arrived their eyes lit up, it was like magic to them. They followed all instructions and each child had a chance to create a stuffed animal of their choice.

The students were then given cardboard homes for their new found friends. The children decorated the homes, and said that they would put there bear inside when they were finished playing with them. The majority of the children brought their special fluffy friends into school, for the remainder of the school year, to play with in pretend play area, as well as other center activities. The students also took naps with them. The bond was strong, instant and loving.

This project was able to happen because of the generosity and kindness of you guys. This project has helped my students become better turn takers, sharers and problem solvers.”

  • Pre-K Readers In Need of a Read and Keeping Clean

    Funded Jan 10, 2015

My students were so happy to receive the books, the soap, the wipes and the baking soda!!!!!

My students really enjoy reading the books during independent reading time. They are able to recognize their sight words in the books and read those words to each other. It is amazing to sit and watch them pretend that they are the teacher and their friends are the students. I especially love the Big Books the children are able to follow along as I read aloud. They are able to count the words on a page, and make up their own story to their classmates while looking at the pictures.

The students are very grateful for the dish detergent, we use the detergent for water play. The children enjoy playing in the sudsy water, using their imaginations to make different concoctions. They measure, strain and compare during water play.

The Sani hands wipes are perfect!!!!! They are just the right size for their little hands, and they make clean up a lot easier and quicker. The children enjoy painting, and the wipes come in handy for cleaning. The wipes also come in handy after a breakfast that required syrup, or lunch where tomato sauce made an appearance.

I had originally asked for the baking soda to maintain the freshness of the refrigerator; We found other uses for it, we have used it for making play dough!!!! The students were amazed at how fantastic it worked out!! Our words cannot express the gratitude that we feel in our hearts! We are truly grateful.”

  • Pre-Playgarteners

    Funded Dec 16, 2014

My students were so excited and eager to use the materials that were donated to them. Their eyes opened wide and heir mouths dropped open as I entered the classroom with boxes and explained to them that these boxes are filled with learning supplies for them. The children gathered around the table that l placed the boxes on. The room was filled with excitable chatter as the children tried to decide which box to open first and what materials would be inside of which box.

My students and I enjoy the Center Time calendar so much... The morning routine is not dull and boring, instead it is full of life; children eager to participate, with counting, stating the date and using the rhyming words. TheCenter Time provides us with an entire lesson, covering , math, science and ELA. The Magna tiles, also provide a math and science lesson. We have had to detour our normal science activities, and discuss magnets and how they work, #Wonderful! The African American family is wonderful and relatable to the children in my class. It is very interesting to watch as they put their gender role beliefs onto the characters. The play dough cut outs allow for the children to really strengthen their finger muscles, and become creative during playdough. The shoe tieing is the funniest of all, The children try to teach each other how to tie, it is not perfect, however they are really into it, enjoying, and building hand eye coordination. The paper and crayons are very useful, as the children enjoy writing/drawing about their life. Their art work is their way to communicate what is happening to them to the rest of the world.

My children have become active, and interactive learners. My students are explorers, investigators and have more exposure and materials to succeed in their learning. This is all possible because of you-my wonderful donors.”

  • Supplies to Help Pre-K Grow Their Minds

    Funded Dec 31, 2012

Ooooooooooohhhhhhh Thank you, Ms. Crenshaw were the first sounds I heard as I opened the packages that we received from our donors. The children were so grateful and so excited to use their markers to write on the chart paper, and to use their cover up tape to cover the mistakes made with their markers. The chart paper was so needed because the children practice writing. The rubbing alphabet and number plates were such a wonderful addition for the students who need additional fine motor skill support. My students were so amazed that they each received their own dry erase lap boards with markers!!!!! The design markers were the bees knees for my students!!!! :)

The chart paper was a necessary addition for us, as the children use the chart paper to write their names when they enter the classroom, we also do a morning message, using "share the pen" that is why the markers were needed, the children loved the bright colors. The cover tape was excellent as the children were able to cover up any errors they made. The multicultural markers and crayons, allowed children to enhance their drawings as only they can, by including their own skin complexions. The rubbing plates of numbers and alphabets were great, this allowed the children to see numbers and alphabets and feel them, the children also wrote the numbers on their dry erase boards with their dry erase markers.

These supplies made the children enthused and extremely eager to learn. My students have really embraced the hands on learning that these supplies have made possible for them. A super huge Thank you, we really appreciate all you have done for us and our learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Crenshaw

  • Hold the Presses! What Do You Mean There Is No More Paper?

    Funded Mar 30, 2012

I want to thank you all for your kindness and generosity to our kindergarten classes.  Kindergarten is the most important year of a child's education because it is their first year in school and their first experience.  Knowing that, we all want to ensure that our students get everything they need to make it a very successful and exciting school year.  Your donations have helped to make that happen.  Without your help we would not have paper for homework and important classroom assignments throughout the rest of the school year”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Crenshaw
