I am a CSS (Autism) Site Coach at a high school in Jacksonville Florida. We have over 50 amazing students that are serviced in a program for students diagnosed with Autism. Our teachers focus on the individual needs of each student. We are always setting high expectations for our students and ourselves as Exceptional Student Education Teachers. Since each student is unique, we must individually plan in order to set our students up to thrive in the total school environment. A sensory room would help us meet all of the student's individual needs, which will lead them to a road to success. A multi-sensory environment can improve the mood of the student, decreases disruptive behaviors due to lack of communication, and enhance interactions with others.
