Learning English Is Easy as 123
Funded Aug 14, 2024First, I would to say that I am extremely grateful for your donation.
Each and every one of you have made a positive impact for my current and future students.
My English Language Learners appreciate and enjoy the materials they are using in their classroom.
They especially love the daily emotional check-in because all of my entering, emerging, transitioning, and expanding students are able to use it easily.
This resource increases their social emotional skills.
My favorite part is the self-affirmation notes because the students are learning the power of positive thinking.
Once they have that positive mindset, they can expect positive results and approach challenges with a positive outlook.
The resources you have provided will help these scholars to reach their goals faster.
One day they will be proficient in the English language because you and I are working as a team to make that happen!
Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Chi

Funded Aug 13, 2020Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
My students created their "I AM" poems at the end of the 2019-2020 school year when they were in 4th grade.
Their poems were about who they are as individuals and many wrote how COVID-19 has affected their lives.
With your generosity, we were able to publish their work into a class book.
My former 4th graders who are now 5th graders were so excited and were beaming with joy when I told them that each of them were getting a copy of their work.
I reminded them that it was made possible from the kindness of others.
They were so grateful for what you have done for them.
Publishing this class book reinforces my message to my students about self-love or self acceptance because in my previous project you fulfilled my request of purchasing diversity books - people who just look like them.
Now they will have a book in their hands in which they created.
They can read their published work with pride and knowing that their classmates are going through the same experiences with them as well.
The COVID-19 pandemic has made schooling difficult for my students.
Currently, many of them are learning remotely but this class book will help us reconnect again.
Even though we are in class virtually, having this book makes us feel we are in the same room together.
Thank you for being the light during this holiday season.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Chi

Funded Mar 4, 2020Thank you!
My students love getting new books especially ones about diversity.
Their eyes display the happiness on their faces, and I'm confident in their hearts as well - they enjoy seeing individuals that look just like them.
These books will reinforce the notion that all of us are the same inside even though we look different from the outside.
In addition, my students will realize that we can learn from each other despite our differences.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, some of my students had the opportunity to read some of these books to themselves.
As of now, my students and I are not together in the classroom physically but we are together virtually.
They will get the chance to read these books again through remote learning.
Again, thank you so much for your generosity.
It is greatly appreciated!”

Funded Feb 26, 2020Thank you!
My students and I are grateful for this valuable resource.
They were thrilled to see so many reams of paper!
Articles from NEWSELA were printed out according to the student's reading level. Each student was able to mark up the paper and write the necessary notes to complete his or her assignment.
In addition, the computer paper is also used for their picture dictionary which includes the W.O.T.D. (word of the day) and idioms. Each word and idiom have a definition, a sentence sample, and a picture to help the student visualize the meaning of the word or phrase better.
Other resources such as spelling and sight words were printed out to expand the students' knowledge on the English Language.
More importantly, the computer paper came just in time because the students began remote learning in late March.
Packets in literacy and math were made just in case the students did not have access to a device or internet.
The packets were precious resources so no learning is delayed due to this pandemic.
The students had enough work until they received the necessary materials they needed for remote learning.
Again, thank you so much for your generosity.
It is greatly appreciated!”

Stick It!
Funded Feb 3, 2020Thank you!
My students and I are feeling glue-tastic!!!
They were delighted to see the ample amount of glue. Each student now has his or her own glue stick. Now every morning, everyone knows they have glue to paste the word of the day and idiom.
This has made our morning routine run more smoothly because the students are no longer asking to borrow glue from their classmates or informing me that there is no more glue sticks in the classroom glue box.
My students are learning responsibility as well. Each of them will get a new glue stick every month or when it runs out (which ever comes first). By doing so, this will teach them to value what is given to them.
Again, thank you so much for your generosity.
It is greatly appreciated!”

Funded Aug 8, 2019First, I would to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
All of you have made a difference.
We are currently learning topic three in math. The new resources that you have donated to my classroom are helping my students with their multiplication skills.
My students were so excited when they saw the LEGOS. They couldn't wait to get their hands on them. It was amazing to see them to visually show their classmates and me how 3 x 4 = 12 looks like and then 3 x 40 = 120. They were able to show the basic multiplication fact quickly but it took them awhile on how to represent other one. They were thinking critically. After several trials and errors, they did achieve success.
The LEGOS will also be used for future topics in math such as division, arrays, area, perimeter, adding fractions, subtraction fractions, and equivalent fractions.
There will be plenty of exploration with the LEGOS besides math.
Again, thank you for your generous contribution.”

Funded Oct 5, 2010Thank you very much for your generous donations!
Your random act of kindness is one of the advices from The Essential 55 that my students have been learning since the beginning of the school year. These advices are written by an educator named Ron Clark.
The toners that you have donated to my classroom helped my students everyday!!! I've used them to make copies of lessons that need to changed in a New York Minute - modifying to my students' needs.
You and I both know that time is a valuable resource, and I thank you for helping me to reach the students' learning goals.
Due to these hard economic times, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting these resources!!! It is people like you who continue to make school a thriving place for students to learn!”

Funded Mar 18, 2010Thank you for your generous donations! My colleagues and I are very grateful for what you have done! During our Broadway trip, there were 185 smiling faces! The enthusiasm they had was priceless! The 5th graders will definitely cherished this memory or experience for the rest of their lives. They enjoyed their luncheon in the city and had a spectacular time watching the show, "The Addams Family". I can definitely say the students had a BLAST! Thank you so much for the buses because it helped bring the Broadway Magic to these students! All of you have come through for our students during these difficult times!
One of Nelson Mandela's quotes is "Make An Imprint", and that's what you did!
THANKS! =o)”

Not Just Copies But Life Lessons As Well
Funded Jul 21, 2009Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts! My class and I are very grateful for your generosity because ever since the printer/copier machine has been placed in our classroom, we have been using it in school everyday! In addition, my students are learning the life lesson as well. A majority of them have realized to be more responsible and organized with their papers because they want to use their tickets for other purchases (for example: the treasure box).
Recently, a new student was admitted into my class, and he is an English Language Learner. With the copier machine, I am able to copy the necessary papers from different books so he can do well in school.
Again, thank you so much for funding this project. My students and I appreciate what you have done for us during these hard economic times. We are able to get the learning flowing because of you!”
