Light Up Our Classroom!
Funded Dec 31, 2024I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your donations! The students are going to be so excited to continue learning to read and continue to practice their math skills on these amazing light up tables. I am also excited to be able to share these tools with my colleagues and the students in their classrooms. Thank you so very much, to all of you!!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Allison and Austin McChord and 3 other donors.Left to Right, Top to Bottom!
Funded Nov 16, 2018Thank you so much for our pencil grips, etch-a-sketch boards and flip charts, answer white boards, lined white boards and journals! It was so thoughtful of you to donate to our classroom. The kids faces lit up when I brought the giant boxes into the classroom. We got to work right away using the materials. Two students in particular were so thankful for the pencil grips, it was the perfect tool to teach them how to hold their pencils the correct way. We've had a ton of fun with the answer white boards too. I'll ask the class a question such as, "how do you spell LITTLE" and they write it on the white board and hold it up high for all to see. Those boards have made practicing their handwriting super fun. We use our journals every Friday morning. We've answered questions such as, "what do you want to be when you grow up?", and "what would the coolest playground look like?". It will be fun to have all their writing in one place in June and look back to see how their writing has improved throughout the year. Again, we are so grateful for your thoughtful donation, it is because of people like you that our kiddos are successful!”

This classroom project was brought to life by BIC Consumer Products. We Are Readers!
Funded Nov 15, 2017Thank you SO much for our new rugs and new books. The students were so excited for their new materials. They were also impressed that someone who didn't even know us would do such a nice thing. I think it really inspired them to do something nice for someone they don't know!
Getting the new rugs was awesome. Before, our rugs were old and falling apart and not a nice space to work. Then, our new bright rugs arrived! The bright colors added a happiness to the class that everyone who walked in noticed. Plus it gave us a nice place to gather as a class to learn. What a difference!
New books is great but new books that are JUST RIGHT for the students is even better. Before, the students struggled to find a book to read and therefore were not enjoying reading. But now they know which box to go to for them and enjoy reading!
Thank you so much for thinking of our students. It's because of people like you that our students are successful.”

So Many Computers, So Few Tables!
Funded Nov 12, 2015Thank you for making an impact in the lives of my student's. The children were thrilled the day they found out someone had donated a table and headphones to the classroom. It sparked a discussion about what "donating" means and how we can pay it forward. A few times since your donation, I have overheard my students talking of ways they can donate to others (i.e. winter coats that are too small for them, to go to someone in need). As you can see, you not only impressed me with your generosity but sixteen little ones as well!
Since we received our table and headphones we've set up a designated "computer center" in our classroom. Students used to walk around with the Chromebooks nearly giving me a heart-attack each day, thinking they were going to accidentally drop the computers! But now, the computers stay safely at the table and the children go to them and sit comfortably while they work. And I really do mean comfortably; prior to receiving the table, students were sitting at desks made for adults. They could not sit with ease and really get into the lesson for fear of falling off their chair. Now, they fully enjoy activities such as Starfall.com and XtraMath.org.
"Starfall" is a terrific literacy tool used to help students learn their letter names and letter sounds. Students also practice their sight words and sing songs. They get so excited when they see words they know! Xtramath is a great site for students to practice their math facts. Knowing math facts as early as Kindergarten will make learning multiplication and division easier when they get to the upper grades.
Thank you once again for your gift. Please know the table and headphones have been put to great use in our classroom!”
