WOW! Who says that you can only show your thankfulness during the month of November? With people like you in our world you provide not only myself but my students with the thoughts to know that there are truly people who care about others near and far. I am fill with deep appreciation and thankfulness towards your donation to my classroom. You gave my students more to look forward to as they push themselves to the next level in their reading abilities. You provided my students with so much more than books in which you couldn't imagine. Thank you with all my heart! People like you convey the message that acts of kindness and thoughtfulness never fades away!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wrenn

  • Independent Readers R' Us!

    Funded May 25, 2016

Thank you so much for your contribution. It has already made a long lasting impact within my students' lives. For example, my students go book shopping every week and being that I had them last year most of the books within our classroom's library have been read multiple times. However, you provided my students with a change they needed to discover and love new levels of texts and information. They are now counting down to the days in which they get to book shopping again to read one of the new books you have helped to provide. Words can't explain how grateful I am towards your donation. Thank you once again for your unselfish act of kindness!”

    With gratitude,

My students love to learn and enjoy being interactive with their learning, and a document camera has further help our love of interactive learning! Also, due to your donation my students can now share their projects and novels in a greater dept that allows everyone within the class to see. Thank you once again for your donation!”

Thank you so much for your very generous donation! Thanks to you, my students have been able to create and print projects such as their science fair projects and their creative writing assignments .Due to your generosity, my students are able to further their creativity without having to think about the lack of supplies within our classroom. Again, I would like to say thank you for your support of my students creativity and learning process. You are a true example to my students that people all over are cheering for them.”

  • A Home for Our Books

    Funded Dec 3, 2015

Thank you all so much for your generous support! I wished I video taped my students reactions when they first saw their new book baggie. The shouting and cheering I witnessed when the first book baggie came out of the box was heart-warming and a touching memory I will always keep with me.

The book baggie has become a strong engagement tool for my students. They are always seen carrying their book baggies with them, majority of the time it is without me telling them to do so. For example, we went on a class trip that required us to take the bus, as I was walking down the aisle of the bus to check on each of my students I noticed more than five students were sitting with their book baggie on their laps and simply reading a book they had within their book baggie. I was blown away!

My students each take ownership of their book baggie. Given their ages, some students on a occasions lose items, but that statement is not true in regards to their book baggie. Since the moment they received their book baggie not one student has lost their book baggie! Words will never express my thanks to you, the donation you have made change the way my students view reading and books.

Thank you for showing your support, and your generosity. My students have written thank you letters to you as well. I know it was not a requirement but nothing is better than reading their thoughts as to how you have changed their lives. Please share your contact information with the company (if you don't mind), I would love for you to actually read their kind words of thanks.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wrenn

This classroom project was brought to life by Google.org and one other donor.
My 4th graders attend a Title One school located in the South Bronx in which 30% live in shelters. Their goal is to read at their grade level by the end of the school year. Many struggle in the area of reading and don't have the resources to fully support and grow their reading muscle at home. For example, they do not have books to read at home. Therefore, they are in need of a variety of books to borrow within the classroom. Despite the obstacles they face on a daily basis they are always eager to learn and never give up hope. As their teacher I buy books of their interests out of my own pocket because I want to provide them with the opportunities to read with their peers and most importantly instill the joy that reading can bring regardless of the challenges within your own life.
