I can't began to describe how my student feel knowing that there is more people out there willing to help them achieve there learning goals. We are forever great full for you contribution to our classroom and helping build positive environments.

My students are using the resources several ways, we have created interactive notebook for each student to take notes and place their work in, we have also created projects and other interactive activities.

The next step for my student to get them expose to many different cultures and as well become active readers and writers, we are still working on that as there are some bumps in the road but we are fully committed to getting there.”

  • Let's Bite Into A Good Book!

    Funded Oct 2, 2017

I can't thank you enough for supporting my classroom with books, my students love to read weather it's in workstations when they are reading to themselves or with a partner or during a read aloud where they get to answer questions and interact and challenge each Other's thinking.

The majority of my students are still recovering from the effects of hurricane Harvey and are displaced which means they don't have books at home to read. I challenge the students to read as many books as they can for the month and choose their favorite book to share with the class. Receiving new books has challenged the students to view different genres of text as well as different complexities of text.

I have a total of 60 students and out of all of my classes I have several students that love reading new books with different complexes, they are asking to take the books home, reading them to other classmates and also reading them at lunch.

I would like to say thank you again for giving my students hope and inspiration where there was little.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Williams

  • Connecting Literacy Through Technology

    Funded Dec 31, 2015

I can't express my gratitude enough, so many of my students have benefited from this project, I have several students that are new to America and they are having a hard time transitioning to our American language, they have found comfort in using technology ( I pad) in the classroom there vocabulary has grown so much over the past few months. Also I have students who already have I pads in there home, and there parents never knew that they had educational app that their child could use. They were so grateful that I showed how to get free educational app to help improve there child's reading abilities.

The most exciting thing about the I pad for the students is that they are able to move to a secluded place with a partner and learn on the I pad.

Again thank you so much for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Williams

My students are either delayed in their communication skills, or come from rough social environments, and lack the support at home that is needed for them to succeed. The school that I teach at is very open to mainstreaming our special education students. That's why it is my goal as their teacher to make sure each of my students have the opportunity and materials that can assist in there learning. Helping my students learn, retain, and express themselves are my heartfelt goals for each of them.
