We are requesting a class set of the classic heroic epic, The Odyssey. As a ninth grade team, we want to start the school year by helping our freshmen adjust to life in high school and set goals for their future. To do this, we will study the epic hero's journey, The Odyssey. We will use these class sets of illustrated graphic novel versions of The Odyssey to inspire students to think about the ways they can be the heroes of their own stories through overcoming obstacles, being persistent, not giving up, and facing challenges with courage and patience. We want to bring to life this centuries old story for a new generation of readers, so that they may face great challenges, overcome great obstacles, and achieve great success.
