A Good Teacher Deserves an Apple MacBook for Remote Learning
Funded Aug 30, 2020Words can’t explain how excited I am to have my project funded. I found out Friday that I will be teaching completely virtual for the entire school year and this MacBook is so needed.
I already have so many things I am going to create with this resource. There are countless videos I can create and edit using IMovie. I can’t wait to incorporate Pear Deck and Slidemania onto my daily lessons. Is teachers are always planning!
All of these things could not be possible without the support of you amazing donors. I seriously can’t thank you all enough. Thank you for believing in this teacher and my project. All the love to you!!”

Funded Feb 24, 2020I can't thank you enough for your donation to our project to get Chromebooks. My class is overjoyed to receive them. What really has touched them was the fact that strangers went out of their way to donate to this project. It has really helped fill their hearts and show how many kind people there are in the world. It has also inspired my students to want to Pay It Forward to others.”

Funded Nov 8, 2019I can not express how excited my students and I were to see that our project was funded. We have been using our new Chromebooks for so many different activities. We have been having fun using them to play review games on Kahoot and Quizlet. The students recently did a writing assignment about dreams they have for the world. They used the Chromebooks to research information about their dreams. They have been using the app Seesaw to record short videos demonstrating their understanding of different concepts. They have also used the Chromebooks to practice skills on websites like Xtramath and IXL.
What my students are most excited about all the new Chromebooks is that they have more access to technology. We used to only have enough for three or four students to use them. Students waited patiently for their turn, but the waiting game was difficult and frustrating.
Thank you again for all your help and support.”

Funded Sep 6, 2019My students were so happy to see the rocket ship designating that our project was funded thanks to you and your support. My students have been using our new Chromebooks for so many exciting and engaging activities. They have been using the app Seesaw to record short videos demonstrating their understanding of different concepts. They have researched information on our state and created Google slide presentations on the Chromebooks that they will be presenting to our buddy class. They have also used the Chromebooks to practice skills on websites like Xtramath and IXL.
What my students are most excited for about the Chromebooks is that they have more access to technology. They use to have to wait their turn for access to a computer in the classroom or a Chromebook. Sometimes students didn't get the chance to use any technology because we ran out of time in class. Now there is more technology for the students and less need to share resources.
One thing that my students have loved is the ability to use the website Seesaw and the camera on the Chromebook to record videos of them explaining their learning. The students have created videos of themselves reading a page in a "just right" book. This gives the students the opportunity to practice fluency. The students have also created videos to share their learning of math concepts. One project had the student write his or her name on a piece of paper. The student then identified the different types of angles that were formed and gave a brief explanation for the different angles. Parents have also loved that the students are doing this because it gives them the opportunity to see what the children are learning each day in school.”
