  • Backpacks for Liberty's Eagle Dancers!

    Funded Jul 15, 2024

The back packs were beautiful with all that bling bling! The back packs were the perfect solution for the girls to carry all their equipment and necessary items to all their practices and events. The glitter backpacks helped our dancers stay organized, responsible, and ready for every practice and performance. They felt like professionals carrying their gear, and that sense of ownership and belonging translated directly into their commitment and focus during rehearsals.

Thank you for believing in our students and fueling their passion. Your support helped build not just a dance team, but a stronger sense of community, discipline, and joy in our school.”

    With gratitude,

  • Cheerful Pom-Poms for Our Spirited Dance Team!

    Funded Jul 15, 2024

Thank you so much for your kind donations! Our dance team girls were very grateful and excited to receive their pom-poms. The girls looked sharp and put together like a real professional team. They use their pom-poms for every practice. They have also participated in many school functions, like festivals and pep rallies. They have also participated in many city activities like parades and other events. Now our girls are ready to compete, and they look and feel confident with these bright and shimmering pom-poms. The girls have also motivated many of our other students to want to be part of the dance team.”

  • Gift of Reading

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

I want to thank you so much for your generous donation! This could not have come at a better time! I thought this project was not going to make it and my kids would be without their favorite book. This will be the 4th year my students will receive a Mo Willems book for Christmas. I can't wait to see their faces when they open their gifts! Thanks to DonorsChoose, amazing donors like you and Sonic, my students will continue to love and receive their own book for Christmas!!”

  • Empowering Learners: Fueling Teacher Growth for Student Success

    Funded May 10, 2024

I am incredibly thankful for your generous support in providing me with a computer. It has had an amazing impact on both my students and me. Over the summer, I completed all the professional development required by my district, ensuring I was better prepared to meet my students' needs. The computer also allowed me to organize and plan for the upcoming school year, setting up engaging lessons and activities to help my students thrive. Your kindness has made a real difference, and I am so grateful for your contribution to our classroom's success!”

  • Welcome Summer!

    Funded May 9, 2024

I wanted to take a moment to share the incredible impact your generous donations have had on my first-grade students through the "Welcome Summer!" project. Thanks to your kindness and support, our first graders will experience a summer filled with joy, creativity, and discovery. The chalk will provide endless hours of sidewalk drawing and creativity. It will encourage the kids to spend time outside, expressing themselves artistically and engaging in imaginative play. The sunglasses not only provide essential protection from the sun but also add a cool and stylish touch to their summer outfits. The beach ball will bring physical activity into their lives. Whether they play catch with friends or family, the beach ball promotes teamwork and keeps them active. Finally, the fun summer straws were a delightful addition, making their summer beverages even more enjoyable. This small but thoughtful item adds a touch of fun to their daily routines, making hydration exciting. Thank you once again for your kindness and for helping us create such wonderful experiences for our first graders.”

  • Wrapping Our First Graders in Holiday Warmth

    Funded Jan 8, 2024

Thank you much for helping me get these nice warm throws to my first graders. Ever since the pandemic DonorsChoose has helped me give my students their favorite book "Gerald and Piggy" books and a throw. These have been given to them as Christmas gift for the past years. My students LOVE 💕 it! One student told me that this was going to be her favorite one because she loves Gerald and Piggy! Another student was telling another student how she loved it so much that she wanted to cry. The following day I asked them how they liked their blanket and they all said that they had slept with it. Thank you for helping me get them something they love and need with this cold weather that we are facing this winter.”

  • Empowering Young Writers

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

Thank you so much for helping me get these journals and folder to my students. Writing is always a hard subject to teach. I have learned that it's always a favorite subject to my students at the end of the year. They love being creative with their stories and illustrating their stories is always fun! I think their favorite of all is when they present their story to the class. They love hearing their students compliments.

I love hearing them say, "yay!" When I tell them to take out their their writing journal. Their folders hold a dictionary to help them with their spelling and grammar rules that they use as a reference for their writing. This has helped a lot with reading, writing and spelling. Thanks again for being part of my students education. 😊”

  • Magical Halloween Books

    Funded Sep 21, 2023

Thank you so much for helping me get these fun Halloween books into my kids hands. My students love Halloween and loved listening to and reading these new books. They loved the puppet ghost Gustavo because they were able to role play the story. They fell in love with all the characters! My best part was the new vocabulary words my non English speakers learned from these books. The books motivated my kids to do some fun follow up activities. They loved writing about the story "Underpants" they designed their own underpants. Thank you because all these books really invited my kids to go and sit in our library and read.”

  • Summer Fun!

    Funded May 8, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations! This was a great year! I had super awesome kids, not only academically but behavior-wise too. With your help, I sent my students to their summer vacation with a bucket full of fun things they can use to relax. We got them a sand bucket and filled it with bubbles, chalk, a fun summer straw, sunglasses, and a journal. The kids loved it and couldn't wait to get home and get busy. I had parents send me messages telling me that they appreciated the gift and the kids were already playing with everything. Thank you so much for helping me put a smile on my kids this year!”

My students need the CD players to listen to stories, poetry and songs to improve their listening skills, fluency, comprehension and enrich their multi-sensory experience with books. Student will use a CD player with a book of his/her choice. The benefit of it being portable is that they can also choose where to sit and listen. It also helps a lot with their vocabulary development. This also provides a great opportunity for students to listen to their favorite book over and over to the point where they start reading along. We also need the magnetic letters to make words. Making words is a great strategy to help students promote the development of phonological awareness. Making words is a creative way for students to learn spelling patterns and become good decoders. It is also a great hands-on activity to help struggling readers. Finally, we need the book bins to use as book boxes. During our guided reading students are given the opportunity for independent reading. They each have a box with a few books that are just right for them to read on their own. This will provide the opportunity to reread books that are on their level and two books of their choice. The boxes also help to control the traffic to and from the classroom library. Students practice on developing their reading stamina. By helping us with this project, not only will you be helping us to improve our reading but to develop the love for reading.
