  • Care Closet- Hygiene

    Funded Dec 1, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations. We have started a Care Closet at our school that has basic items a student might need. Through your donations, we were able to stock up on hair brushes, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair ties, and deodorant. Students are very appreciative of the needed supplies.

So many people take for granted that their basic needs are met daily. They do not have to worry about having what they need so that they can come to school/ work healthy and clean. For families that struggle with meeting basic needs, your donations provide a sense of relief.”

  • Weather Station

    Funded Apr 28, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting our project. Being able to show the students actual weather tools made such a big difference for the students. They were able to look at the differences amongst the hygrometer, thermometer, and the barometer. This gave them a better understanding of the tools and what they are used for. The digital weather station gathered their attention and it will be nice to be able to use it year round with future groups of students. Thank you again for all of your support!”

  • Vetted Books!

    Funded Feb 22, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation and for supporting our classroom. The kids look forward to going to the classroom library to select books to read, so it is important that we have books available to them that have been approved for their age group. We were able to have a nice selection of books in a basket that they can borrow from and that is so wonderful. Thank you for giving me what I needed to provide a positive opportunity for the students that want to read and that don't always have access to books elsewhere. You are greatly appreciated!”

  • Vending Machine Books

    Funded Sep 26, 2022

Thank you for contributing to our book vending machine books. You helped us provide quality books as incentives for students who have gone above and beyond.

I wish I could explain the amazing feeling of watching the student walk in to our dining room to see a filled vending machine for the first time. Words cannot describe the looks of awe and amazement, the excited whispers, and the huge smiles.

Thank you for helping us make this possibility a reality and for encouraging both reading and outstanding citizenship. You are appreciated.”

  • Excited for Science

    Funded Sep 6, 2022

Thank you so much for all of your support. The students work so hard and having these small items to encourage and reward their work is priceless. The students love showing off the Science stickers they earn, whether it's from a high test score or being victorious at Science Trivia.

The students were so grateful to receive their own set of highlighters that they can use in all classes, but especially for learning to highlight important information on their Science study guide.

Your contributions are appreciated and make a difference. Thank you.”

  • WWII Books

    Funded Feb 8, 2022

Thank you for donating to our project for non-fiction World War II books. These books came in handy when we did our novel study, The War that Saved My life, at the end of last school year. The students were so engaged in the novel, but did not have background knowledge about WWII. These non-fiction books allowed the students to fill in holes in their understanding of WWII and life at that time. It was amazing to see how in to the text the got and how interested they were in learning about this time in history. Thank you for helping me provide this opportunity for them.”

  • Novel Study

    Funded Feb 4, 2022

On behalf of my students and I, I would like to thank you for your donations that allowed us to receive a class set of "The War that Saved My Life." We are using it for a novel study.

We use the books as read aloud, partner reading, and independent reading, which improves our fluency. We are practicing many different reading strategies and skills as we work through the chapters. We practicing inferencing and supporting it with evidence, context clues, and monitoring our comprehension.

The students enjoy reading the book and look forward to it daily. Thank you so much!”

  • VersaTiles Math

    Funded Jan 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. The students love using the VersaTiles as they are hands on and different from their usual activities. VersaTiles are a great way for them to review concepts and get immediate feedback.

One of the things they love the most is that it requires no writing. They can work independently or with a partner. The activities are short and they can work on them in rotations or when they finish early.

Thank you again for donating to our project. We appreciate it.”

  • Classroom Magazines

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to our project for Scholastic News magazines. They are a great way to get students to read nonfiction text on current topics. They have great text features- pictures with captions, charts, tables, etc.

The kids enjoy reading these magazines and the magazines add to our lessons. Having the Science editions as support for the concepts we are learning is very beneficial as well.

Thank you again for your donations. Thank you for supporting our classroom through this project!”
