Grow a Garden!
Funded Oct 24, 2011Thank you so much for the generous gift of the nature kit, leaf rubbing set, birdhouses, grow a garden packets, suncatchers, mushroom kit, collage frames, and nature crafts. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to use these items to explore the environment science world. Without your help, we would not have been able to explore and engage our students in this way.
The opportunity to be involved for a second year in the Disney's Planet Challenge, has given me a vigor for teaching environmental awareness, as well as the materials needed to do so. My students LOVE the Disney's Planet Challenge program and are all abuzz about it daily.
Thank you again for not only the opportunity for these wonderful materials, but also for the opportunity to be involved in one of Disney's magnificent academic programs.
I look forward to the opportunity to be involved in more Disney programs in the future.
Warmly,”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Barrett
Musical Masterpiece
Funded Nov 1, 2011Thank you so much for providing materials that make it possible to explore the world of music with my students. This project allows for the opportunity to create musical environments that promote learning and engage the children. They are also guided throughout the transitions of the day through the use of music.
Your generosity will be cherished and used by our school for many years to come. We will use the speaker both indoors during our schooldays, as well as outside during Science activities and nature experiences.
Thank you so much for helping to provide these resources to our students. Without your generosity, we would not be able to engage our students in this way.
Warmly,”

No More Bullying!
Funded Dec 22, 2011Thank you so much for the generous gift of educating our students against the harmful effects of bullying. Due to the very hurtful things that bullies say to students, many children are verbally injured and aren't sure how to deal with it. Your gift will give me additional resources to help arm my students with the skills needed to not only protect themselves against being bullied, but also to protect themselves from becoming bullies themselves.
Your generous gift will continue to help encourage, engage, and teach student for years to come. I will use these resource with my whole school.
Thank you for this gift. We are eager to begin using it and learning from it.
Warmly,”

This classroom project was brought to life by Townsend Press and 7 other donors.UPS: U Help Us
Funded Nov 1, 2010I am so humbled by your gifts toward this worthwhile project. My students, as well as the students throughout the school will appreciate and enjoy making the birdhouses and bird feeders. They will also learn immeasurable amounts by observing and caring for nature.
Your generous donation has made learning and growing possible that would never have been a possibility before. We will humbly use and graciously accept this gift. It will be used by many students to come.
Disney's Planet Challenge and the UPS Foundation are forever special in my heart for these gifts. I could never express how deeply this has affected my teaching, my students, and my community.

This classroom project was brought to life by UPS Foundation and one other donor.Challenge in the Classroom: Disney's Planet Challenge
Funded Nov 15, 2010Wow! I can't thank you enough for the generous gift to our school. Resources are low, and I realize that resources are had to come by for corporate America, as well. We appreciate your gift humbly.
These children will be given the opportunity to explore, document, study and appreciate nature now, all because of your gift. Disney's Planet Challenge is a blessing for our community and our school. Our nature trail will be a place of exploration, experimentation, and most importantly, as place to care for and improve the environment.
I am hoping that through this project, these students will acquire a sense of responsibility for the environment, as well as the know-how and ability to care for it.
Thank you again for all of your support with this gift. ”

This classroom project was brought to life by UPS Foundation and one other donor.Read, Read, Read = Succeed, Succeed, Succeed!
Funded May 13, 2010Thanks for your generosity and for giving my students the chance to explore engaging new literature in the classroom. You've provided a resource that would otherwise been unavailable to them.
They LOVE the books! The poetry for two voices is incredible and the mother/son stories in various languages is magnificent! I can't express the infinite applications in the classroom that you have made possible.
I truly appreciate everything you've done to make this possible for me and my students.”

Volleyball Solutions
Funded Jan 21, 2010Wow! We've received our materials and begun to use them. They are even making more of an impact than I'd hoped for. The children have been learning the fundamentals of Volleyball and participating in group activities, as well. We've truly enjoyed the process so far, and look forward to our future with the Volleyball materials.
The foam training balls are offering even more than I'd originally thought that they would. I currently have a student who is bound to a wheel chair. He has a breathing tube and can't respond quickly when a ball is thrown at him. The foam balls offer him the security that he needs to be able to participate fully without fear of being hurt.
All in all, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity with the children. They are getting the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of a sport that will prepare them for Middle and High School sports. I appreciate your generosity and am excited to see where this project leads our school in the future.”

Games For Learning Experiences
Funded Dec 6, 2009Thank you so much for the opportunity to provide learning experiences for my students that not only engage them in meaningful skill building activities, but that also encourage character building skills. You've given these children the opportunity to learn in a way that otherwise was never possible. By playing games, they are enabled to learn communication skills and develop friendships that would be impossible to create in a typical textbook activity.
Your generosity has made a huge impact on the students currently in my class, however, it will continue to impact my students for many, many years to come.
Thank you so very much for the generous gift that you have given. It means the world to both myself and my students.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Barrett
Physical Education Fun!
Funded Dec 1, 2009Your donation to our classroom and our school has made all of the difference in the world. My students are now able to do the same activity and work on the same physical skills. The student with physical disabilities is now able to participate fully during our P.E. time and engage in the activities of him peers. We are so blessed to have people like you, who value an equal education and are willing to help provide that to our children.
Your gift has come at a time when resources are few in the public school setting. I appreciate your kindness from the bottom of my heart and I know that my students feel the same.
Thank you so much for this magnificent gift. ”

Parachute Possibilities
Funded Oct 8, 2009Your generous donation to my class and school opens endless possibilities for both my students, as well as all of the other students attending here. I can not express how deeply this touches my heart. We use this parachute every single week. It allows every single student in the third grade to be able to participate equally, including my quadriplegic student. Seeing the excitement in their eyes proves that this project was definitely a must! We've played mathematics games, Halloween games, and Word Games during P.E. with this parachute.
Our community is primarily low-socioeconomic in status, so your donation has made activities possible that would never have been imagined otherwise. You have affected our community in such a positive way with this project.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of the two hundred plus students each year that you have made an impact on through your donation. Without people like you. ”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Barrett
