I teach middle school students in an inner city district. I have over 500 students that I teach over the course of a week but they are never able to leave my class with a piece of work that they completed to share with someone at home. We never showcase their work because it looks terrible when you print it out in black and white and it is very demotivating to the students when I tell them that we can't print their work. For example, we create "Wordles" on a website using our writing pieces or poems or even song lyrics. The resulting image is a picture of all the words used in the project. We manipulate the words to create our images. But, the result is a colorful representation and when we print in black and white the effect is lost.
