  • Let's Get Moving!

    Funded Feb 6, 2023

Since receiving our recess equipment, students have been able to incorporate more team work playing, they are more active and are enjoying recess time.

When the students first saw the materials they were very surprised and exited to know that so many family and community members helped to donate. They helped the teachers to unpack and we agreed on rules to use and share the equipments and to take care of them.

We are very grateful that we had this donations that helps our students be more active and working together and building more friendships and a sense of community.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rivera

  • Flexible Reading!

    Funded Oct 7, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity funding my project. The children were excited to go "book shopping" with their new tote bags and excited to read and learn in their new reading spots/ chairs.

This classroom wouldn't be awesome without you. I express my gratitude to all who helped to get our flexible seating for our Reader's Workshop and tote bags for my Kindergarten classroom. My students are coming onto my room excited to learn and even more excited to pick their seat for the day. Students are learning which option is best for them and they are choosing spots where they will learn the best each day.

Thank you so much! My 33 students really appreciate your donations!!!"”

  • Magnet Tile Our Way to a Joyful Classroom!

    Funded Apr 6, 2018

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you for your big generosity in a short amount of time to fund this project. The children used the materials during choice time at the light table. In addition, they were also included in several math lessons in order to make it fun and engaging. My students were very excited to use all the new materials. We will continue to use them this year as part of our choice time and curriculum. Thank you for putting a smile on every student impacted by this project!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rivera

The transition from pre-k to kindergarten is tough on students as they transition from a play-based curriculum to the full day of kindergarten academics. To ease this transition, I am trying to develop our play centers to keep the students joyful and engaged. We received a light table earlier this year and are asking for enough Magnet Tiles for all the students in order to support joyful and essential learning in kindergarten. The Magnet Tiles, Translucent Imagination Builders, and Light Table Manipulative Center, will create a space for conversation and language development as students innovate and create with them. Navigating conflicts and figuring out how to share develops students’ conversation and language skills, which are most often developed during play and peer-to-peer interactions for kindergarten-aged students. Thank you for supporting our classroom and helping to bring joy to our kindergarten classroom!
