Improving Learning of Students With Special Education Needs With an iPad

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the support provided to help my learners succeed in my self-contained special education class using the iPads. This has been an engaging tool in the class using their self-paced curriculum and diverse learning needs. This has allowed me to personalize instruction especially in the use of online applications helpful to their special needs. Some of my verbal students really enjoyed the use of online games and applications for literacy and numeracy.

This iPad also fosters collaboration among my students. I integrated games in some of the lessons in improving the fine and motor skills through touch interaction. Additionally, communication apps allow students to express themselves more effectively, bridging gaps for those who struggle with verbal communication.”
