Breaking Out of the Box
Funded Oct 20, 2016Thank you so much for your donations that allowed us to purchase Breakout EDU kits. My students were so excited to find out we'll be able to do these activities on a regular basis! They have so much fun trying to "break out", that they don't realize they're improving teamwork skills, boosting their critical thinking skills, and developing creativity.
Each grade level has already gotten to use the kits twice, in addition to the breakout we did using borrowed kits. They're getting better and faster each time we do it! It will keep me challenged to keep finding Breakout EDU games that are challenging enough for them, and luckily there's plenty. I've already got one planned that we'll do at the end of our archaeology unit.
Thank you again for your generosity!”

Ms. Clements
Cranial Connections: Dissecting A Sheep Brain
Funded Aug 10, 2015Thank you so much for your donation on Donors Choose. Because of you, we were able to purchase sheep brain dissection kits to help us learn about the parts of the brain as part of our Cranial Connections unit.
My gifted/talented students were so excited to find out they would be dissecting a brain. They had so many questions leading up to the lesson. While some of those questions were answered, being able to work hands on with a real brain led to even more questions that we were able to answer as well!”

Learning Science in the Information Age
Funded May 6, 2013My students are so excited to have a tablet in our classroom. We only have one computer in my classroom, so they are excited to have a resource that they can use daily for research and studying.
My students love the apps that are available to practice skills such as math, reading, and science. By accessing the internet, my students are able to stay caught up with their class notes and study for tests and quizzes.
We are currently using the tablet to study weather by viewing weather maps to track fronts and observe patterns. My students look forward to seeing how we are going to be using the tablet in each unit. We appreciate your donation for the tablet - it makes learning fun!”

Ms. Clements
My Scientists Want an Up-Close Look!
Funded Feb 29, 2012I wish I could express the amount of gratitude I feel that individuals such as yourselves are willing to help our students access the materials they need for a quality education.
The digital microscope you helped us purchase has been a huge hit in my classroom. Every day, my students ask me if we get to use it, and I am so thrilled to be able to say yes. Yes, we are going to look at the parts of a plant today. Yes, we are going to look at our mealworms today. Yes, we are using our digital microscope.
Technology has come so far, and it is so exciting that we are able to use this in our classroom. Without you, it would not be possible. My students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Clements
