Dear Donor's Choose, On August 12, 2023, St. Lucie County School District welcomed its first group of K-5 students into their first Introductory Computer Science class; comprising over 900 enthusiastic young learners. As the sole teacher leading this program, I am excited to share how our students are embracing technology since the inception. The K - first graders often stop me in the hallway, eager to recite the QWERTY keyboard and type out "a s d f j k l ;" with pride. The second graders find delight in telling me how other teachers or even their parents are typing letters with the wrong fingers and declare themselves experts. The third and fourth graders are always ready to recite their user IDs and passwords upon entering the lab; ready to explore the district approve applications. The fifth grader are gearing up to master Microsoft Office Suites a major part of their educational journey. Thank you for caring.
