  • Jellyfishes Needed!

    Our musical Finding Nemo, Jr. is coming along wonderfully. The students have learned so much and have made so many friends. Our drama coaches have helped students improve their confidence and increase their stage presence. Additionally, we have been able to keep 45 students academically eligible because of their participation.

    We are still in rehearsals, but you can see from their faces what fun they are having! Next week, we're finishing with technical and dress rehearsals. Then, our show will go on!

    The students know that you have supported them with the gift of "real" jellyfish! We are extremely grateful to have this extra special effect in our show. We know the audience will love it!

  • The Show Must Go On!

    Thank you for supporting our students. Since we received this grant we were able to invite more students to join our show. The other director and I reached out to our colleagues to ask for students who would enjoy a theatre experience. This way we were able to involve students who had factors that limited them from joining.

    A Theatre Arts college professor voluntarily visited our rehearsal and presented to the students about the history of theatre makeup and hair design. She also gave makeup application demonstrations. Our students responded so enthusiastically about this part of a show. With your gifts, each student received their own makeup kit which was sanitary, but also gave students ownership and pride. They loved working together to create a perfect stage look

    We are in our final rehearsals this week, and the students have grown so much confidence. They have learned complicated dance and song harmonies. They are taking responsibility for their costumes and makeup. It is beautiful to see their growth Thank you for this opportunity.”
