Students in Need – Fueling Their Learning and Growth

Funded Dec 16, 2024

Since receiving the generous donation, my students and I have been able to integrate healthy snacks into our daily routines. One specific classroom project was a group activity where students worked together to create a community garden. The snacks you helped provide gave them the energy and focus they needed to stay engaged in planning, designing, and presenting their garden ideas. We even used some of the healthy snacks as a reward for their teamwork and effort. Having a snack break during the afternoon helped them power through and feel more connected to the project.

When the snacks first arrived, the students were thrilled. They expressed how grateful they were to receive something so thoughtful and practical. It was a big relief for them, knowing they wouldn't have to struggle through the afternoon classes feeling hungry. Many of them immediately opened the granola bars and fruit, and it was clear that this simple act of care made a huge difference. Their smiles and eagerness to get back to learning were a testament to the positive impact these resources have had.

The next step in our current lesson involves continued collaboration. With the extra energy from the snacks, students will be more focused as they move forward with research projects, reading assignments, and group discussions. We're focusing on building teamwork skills and critical thinking through interactive assignments, and providing students with proper nutrition is helping ensure that they can participate actively and attentively. In the coming weeks, we will also begin preparing for a student-led exhibition where they can showcase what they've learned and how their projects came to life. Their progress and success in these projects will be directly impacted by the support you've given them, helping them stay energized and engaged every step of the way.

By ensuring that students no longer have to worry about hunger, you are helping them approach every lesson with enthusiasm and confidence. Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in their lives.”

With gratitude,

Ms. Borrayo
