Strengthening Mental Health Support throughout the School Day

The gift of these mental health resources were so beneficial to my student population and were met with such overwhelming positivity, joy, and engagement. Many students expressed relief and comfort using them, especially the fidget tools which allowed them to channel excess energy and reduce anxiety during sessions and the bean bag which provided a comfortable, relaxed space for students to gather their thoughts. The materials immediately created a more welcoming and supportive atmosphere, which students noted helped them feel more at ease when discussing sensitive topics.

These resources have become essential in creating a safe and supportive environment. Our next steps involve integrating these items into structured discussions and coping skill-building exercises. For example, the motivational lessons and signs can act as conversation starters, helping students to reflect on their goals, strengths, and progress. By consistently utilizing these resources, the counseling sessions aim to foster an ongoing conversation about mental well-being, ensuring students feel supported, understood, and empowered.”
