Have you ever imagined dedicating one day to celebrate reading? One day that would bring together authors, illustrators, storytellers, librarians, students, and teachers to promote their love of reading and writing to elementary aged students? Well I have made that day come true for the students at our Elementary School. I am the librarian here and all I want is to promote reading to my students. All 760 of them! Since we are a school that doesn't have a PTA, we only get money from fundraisers. 95% of the students are receiving free or reduced lunches, we have over 22 languages spoken at our school, and a large ESL (English as second language) program.
