Garden for Sensory and Fine Motor Skills

Funded Nov 14, 2024

My students and I are very greatful for your donations to help complete our sensory garden. We learned to take turns and sharing the gardening tools that you sent us. We enjoyed mixing the soil and the fertilizer that came with it. It was a learning experience for these students to write their names on the biodegradale pot as we planted our own seeds. Unfortunately, our classroom was way too hot during the holiday break from the heater and our seeds sprouted but they dried up eventually. It was really a learning experience and to see their sad faces was very moving. I taught them to never give up, that we fail sometimes but we learn from our failures. So this coming winter recess, I will have them take their little pot with seeds home to care for. The pathos plants are well taken cared of by my 5th graders. They have grown longer and we will propagate them this week and place them in the vase with water to grow their roots before planting them. I am truly thankful for your donations in making this project come true. My students are learning science, taking responsibilities and at the same time improving their sensory processing skills and fine motor skills.”

With gratitude,

Ms. R
