Rolling Down That Hallway
Funded Sep 26, 2008Thank you soooooooo much for funding "Rolling Down That Hallway" for my class. It will be a delight to be able to transport all my supplies as I travel to the other classrooms each day.
I can't wait to be able "haul" the LCD projector/laptop and have it ready to go at a moment's notice. It will be so much easier than carrying it to one classroom a day and trying to find the space for setup.

Funded Aug 29, 2008Imagine me jumping up and down like a small child, clapping my hands and exclaiming, "Oh, goodie!" Thank you so much for being an angel and funding the proposal to supply current event newspapers this year.
Thus far, it has been a glorious start to a new year. The kids are eager to learn. FYI-I have three blocks of students: 24 6th graders, 17 5th graders and a humongous group of 4th graders, 37 to be exact. These magazines will grab their interest and help my students to learn more about the world them.

Taking It to Another Dimension

Using the overhead geometry supplies, as well as the three dimensional figures, will add in our study of shapes, surface area and volume. Geometry Quizmo will be the frosting on this educational cake. Hands on activities increase my students' attention, for sure!

Don't Forget Your Espanol!
Funded Apr 10, 2008I am sooooooo excited. Just when I thought I was going to have to go to the library and check out additional books for my ESL students, my prayers, wishes and dreams are answered.
Thank you so much for funding this proposal. It will be a delight to have books in Spanish in our classroom. Many of my ESL students continue to speak Spanish in their homes but reading and writing in Spanish diminishes due to the lack of materials.

I Pledge Allegiance to the Tattered Flag
Funded Jan 10, 2008Oh boy, oh boy. No longer will we be saying the PLEDGE to our tattered flags! Just yesterday I looked over to the corner and thought that our classroom flag looked so worn out because it is frayed, limp and dingy.
It certainly will help our school to "feel the pride" by having new flags in the 4th, 5th and 6th grade classrooms. Just think, it will be like BLING for our rooms!

I can't wait to share out the books and have comedy readings at the end of each week. Giving students a chance to read with fluency and learn inflection will help them to be better readers. Hey, there may be some stand-up comedians in the making in my class.

Bling Out That Overhead!
Funded Nov 14, 2007Oh my gosh! How excited I am! I even did a little dance in the classroom after reading the e-mail from DonorsChoose that the "overhead" proposal had been funded! You can only imagine how much I appreciate your generosity!!!!!!
To have an eye level cart is a pure dream of mine. Having math charts, graphs and forms all set to use on the overhead will definitely reduce time spent "creating" items on transparencies. To think I can use it over, to boot. How good is life?

Let's Bike Our Way Across Town (Look out WORLD)!
Funded Oct 2, 2007How excited my class was to hear that we will be able to correlate "bike" miles to the real world! Thank you sooooooo much for funding our project.
Our next step is to decide "where" we want to "go" first. We are thinking that we will map out and "aim" towards downtown Indianapolis first. Eventually, we will be biking our way around the state, our country and the world.
