Our classroom is a Special Education resource setting for students with IEPs grades K-8. The students have significant barriers when learning reading, writing, math, and social skills. They can and do learn, but in various ways not addressed in other classrooms. Our ultimate goal is to teach the children to read well, therefore providing access to their world, access to future opportunities and life success. This curriculum provides explicit direct instruction that is research based and are evidence-based practices. Skills are broken down to the basics and supported with lots of practice to mastery; new skills are added incrementally along the way. Intentional teaching and learning work well and is what it takes to set the students on pathways to success with confidence. Thank you for your support!
