    Thank you so much for your contributions to this project. Our students will absolutely love the snacks we will be having during book club. This will create a positive environment to read recreationally and explore the world of the Outsiders! We will be able to use these snack to fuel our students during Lunch Book Club!”

  • Lunch Book Club: Snack Fueled Reading

    The first semester of Book Club was a huge success thanks to your generosity. Our students were drawn to join lunchtime book club with the promise of snacks and stayed active members as they grew invested in our book.

    The students were initially confused about why all of the snacks were blue. We built suspense by telling them the first few chapters of The Lightning Thief would reveal the reason. They had such excited reactions after reading the passage about why Percy loves blue food. Each week they were excited to see what the next blue item would be to power our reading.

    Your donation allowed us to fuel their bodies as our reading fueled their minds. We are looking forward to voting on our next book for book club and hope to collect a new thematic snack to engage them in reading!”
