Building Identity Through the Eyes of English Language Learners

I'd like to start this message by saying thank you for donating to my students's learning experience, one that they expressed that they enjoyed a lot. My ENL class is a diverse group with different cultures and languages who all are just trying to learn English as a group. One thing that I will say about my class is that they are tightly bonded, and these materials only tightened that bond between them. Because the focus was on SEL (social-emotional learning), the majority of the materials were games that could be played as a group, something that excited them when they first saw it.

My students and I used these materials as a way to focus on speaking English, specifically on building their literacy skills through games. I'm glad at how engaging this was for my students, my students even chose to come to my classroom during their lunch break to continue playing the games. I found that learning while using activities creates a less stressful environment, especially when each of the students is capable of making mistakes without shame. Once again, thank you for helping my students with this experience and creating an engaging classroom.”
