  • Starting the New School Year!

    Funded Aug 26, 2014

Dear donors, thank you for your generosity and contribution to our school. When I received the materials, I was overwhelmed with joy and excitement. My role in the school had changed and I needed to make sure that our students would benefit from the supplies received. I was able to share the tubaloos with our speech teachers and special education teacher support (SETSS). The baggies/book buddies are now being used for small reading instruction among a variety of student in our building.

In addition, the vocabulary cards are now being used as support to build the vocabulary of our many students and to enhance their independent reading. Lastly, the paper received is being used for the development of activities and read-aloud sessions.

We are very thankful for your donations. Our students really benefit from the support. Once again!!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tineo

  • Materials Through the Year...

    Funded Mar 6, 2014

As I always say, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THINKING OF US. Your donations have contributed to much more than I even expected. I was able to share the supplies with my direct students and then provide them with some of these materials, so they may use in their regular classrooms. In addition, I was able to share some of these materials with special education related services that started working with our students.

Some of these therapists had just started working in our school and didn't have any resources to start working with our children. I was able to share some supplies and materials which had previously been donated to me and this facilitated their ability to support our students with special education services.

Thank you once again for indirectly and directly making a difference in our students' lives. We are extremely appreciative for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tineo

  • Let's Talk About Phonics and Math Skills!

    Funded Aug 13, 2013

The resources that were provided to us through this project have been amazing. Our students and teachers alike have benefited from these.

For English Language Arts, I have been able to create lessons that enhance my students comprehension and vocabulary. In addition, I have paired these lessons with independent practice activities end home extensions which have all come out of the books provided to us.

For mathematics, the activities have been fun as well as educational. We are able to pair the manipulatives with hands-on activities that push the students critical thinking.

Overall, we are extremely grateful for your generosity and appreciate that you picked our project. The impact on students and teachers is seen everyday and their learning is enjoyable.”

  • Differentiation is Best!

    Funded Apr 26, 2013

When I created this project, I thought that it probably would be funded in the summer and that I would be using the materials in the next school year. To my surprise, amazing and generous donors like you completed my project within days and I was fortunate to receive the materials right away.

With the intervention materials, I was able to create lessons that promoted higher order thinking for my students. The were able to think, understand and express what they learned about the text. The performance of the students in the classroom and overall assessments improved. For math specifically, the students looked forward to the activities and continuously learned concepts that they would eventually be exposed in a later class.

In addition, the students were engaged and looked forward to the activities being presented. For this, I thank you for selecting our projects and helping us get materials to enhance the learning of our students.

Overall, this was an amazing year and you made it happen for my students. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!”

    With gratitude,

  • Everyday Supplies

    Funded Mar 28, 2013

Once again, I have been able to provide enhanced academic support for my students thanks to generous people like you.

I didn't expect that our project would be funded so quickly. We were so lucky because we received the materials in time for use in this current school year. My children were able to have hands on activities for both ELA and Math lessons. They accomplished this task by using the markers provided and also I used them in my charts across my teacher support area.

I utilized the sentence strips to provide writing strategies and even made vocabulary cards for my students to practice new language every week. We created games with these cards in which my students utilized the cards as surprise words to make sentences.

Everything was definitely very helpful. Thank you very much for supporting my students. I still have materials that will be of benefit the next school year.

    Thank you once again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tineo

  • Schools Supplies for our Everyday Functioning

    Funded Jul 25, 2012

Please accept this letter as a THANK YOU for the generous donation to our project. The items donated have helped my students and myself in many different ways. The economy and sometimes lack of daily needed resources make our jobs very challenging, but thanks to all of you we never lacked these resources. We were able to extend the quality of our teaching and the level of activities for our students with your help.

Without your help, none of this could have become a reality today. There are probably not enough words to express our gratitude. THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tineo

  • Everyday School Supplies

    Funded Jan 3, 2012

Our class would like to thank you for your generosity.  In the middle of the school year, we started to run low on classroom supplies and our stapler&pencil sharpener had broken down.  Your contribution helped us to keep going with our activities as planned.

Our students always had their papers neat and their pencils sharpened.  Although, it seems like a simple gesture, it really meant a lot to us because these are basic parts of our everyday functioning in the classroom.  Also, we were able to do many hands-on activities with the markers that you provided.  This means that the children got TONS of practice which is needed for their academic growth.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help and for keeping our classroo”

    With gratitude,

  • Communities and Supplies

    Funded Jan 26, 2012

This year has passed quickly and my students had the right tools thanks to your contributions!  In Social Studies, we were able to study the three types of communities.  Better yet!  We were able to create our three types of communities: Urban, suburban and rural!  We were able to use the construction paper, markers and chart papers for activities throughout the classroom across many subjects.

Thank you for contributing to our small class, we know that you had a choice of helping others.  For this reason and more, we are extremely ”

  • Interactive Learning Activities

    Funded Oct 19, 2011

There are not enough words to express our gratitude for your generous donations. By donating to our project, you showed us that you believe in early childhood education and that most of all you believe in our vision to make learning fun and engaging.

Your donations helped us get language and math games that correlate with the common core standards that are being taught in the classrooms today. My students embrace these opportunities to learn their information, but also they develop their social skills while working in groups.

Again, there are no perfect words to express our gratitude, but please note that you have made an gigantic contribution to children's education and we are VERY appreciative of it. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tineo

  • Calming Little Hands

    Funded Aug 29, 2011

The word "thank you" is not enough for your generous donations. The items donated have helped my students in many different ways. The sensory and calming items provided help my students to maintain focus in their lessons. These items also provide a way for my students to calm themselves when the environment becomes too stimulating.

Without your help, our project would have not become a reality. There are probably not enough words to express our gratitude. We are extremely grateful for our items and we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tineo

My beautiful students come from high need areas. A good percentage of my students come from families in which poverty is highly relevant. They live in environments that include housing projects, shelters and foster homes. Approximately 30% of our students have special needs and they mainly understand concepts taught in the classroom through a variety of activities that include hands-on activities, practice and repetition.
