Make Our Walls Stand Out!
Funded Dec 26, 2024You are the BEST!! What a great Christmas present. I'm so excited to show you the way we transform our room into the place where students are happy to be even when they're struggling to want to be in school.
Your donation is going towards kids who are "on the margin" - for whom small gestures of welcoming and kindness have an outsized impact. They're going to really appreciate it. Thank you again and happy new year!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Allison
Help My Stressed-out Students!
Funded Sep 23, 2024Thank you so much for making my kids' lives a little bit better.
We use the document camera for map activities and the sort of creatively non-linear work that can't easily be done on a computer. It is a tool that allows for dynamic teaching and learning.
The books have been so helpful with our Ancient World units. With these topics, the source material available is often dull paragraphs of dense information, but the books' visuals and writing styles are far more engaging.
Our snacks have all been eaten! (And that is a good thing). Keeping blood sugar from dropping mid-morning keeps them engaged and happy.
Our fidgets are being fidgeted as I write this. It's amazing how something so small and seemingly insignificant can keep an anxious or wandering student on track.
And lastly, our globe and world map continuously give students a geographical context for the stories we tell. Having that visual context for the words gives them life.
I am so happy to be able to write of these successes. Let's all keep up the good work!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Allison
