Project BXHVA Girls Volleyball
Funded Dec 30, 2024I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this project. Your support means a great deal to me, and even more to the students and scholar-athletes who are benefiting from the new equipment. What began as a winter initiative has not only extended beyond our original timeline but has also exceeded our expectations.
The equipment has inspired students to forge relationships and develop essential skills with one another. In a remarkable display of creativity and teamwork, they have even initiated their own version of "March Madness" with a "Volleyball" Edition. Each team proudly represents a different CUNY institution, showcasing their school spirit. This project has truly fostered a sense of community and engagement among the participants. Thank you for making this possible.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Delgado
This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community & an Anonymous Partner and 5 other donors.Supporting Mental Health in PE
Funded Oct 25, 2024Your generous donation was greatly appreciated by myself and my students. My students were very excited when they recevied the materials and they were used with all enthusiasm and appreciation. I noticed that while using the stress balls and fidget toys my students anxiety decreased and became very manageable. These materials were also a great resource which I encourage my students to use in order to relive tension. Not only were these materials helpful to reducing stress but they also provided a wider variety of activities which I can offer my students. Games such as corn hole allow me as a Physical Education teacher to provide my students who are less capable of intense physical activity with with low-impact exercises which at the same time are enjoyable and appreciated by my students.
I plan on continuing to use the donated materials for stress management and anxiety elimination. However, I will use the materials to improve my students social skills. Playing games such as corn hole in groups is a great way to build social connection foster a positive sense of community.”
