Funded Jan 22, 2025The warmest thank you for keeping my first graders warm! Anchorage winters are brutal, but now my students have thick coats, snow boots, and gloves to take on the cold.
Your donation came at the perfect time because as soon as we got funded the temperatures dropped into the negatives. The gear is making a huge difference up into probably the end of April! When we opened the boxes, the kids were ecstatic!
One twirled in their puffy coat, and another, who usually wears sneakers in the snow, said, "My feet feel like they're in the oven!" haha
Now, recess is pure joy. They're building forts, making snow angels, and rolling giant snowballs. One group is on a mission to build the tallest snowman, adding layers every day. No one is left shivering on the sidelines.
Parents are beyond grateful. One told me, "This helps so much! I was worried about getting a good coat this year." Your generosity means my students can focus on being kids, not the cold.
Thank you for believing in us!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Kim
