Future Musicians in Bushwick

Thank you so much for your kind donation to the future musicians project here at Evergreen Middle School. The students are currently learning their way around a guitar starting with the mechanics of guitar playing as well as beginning to explore some simple songs such as, "Happy Birthday."

When the students first saw the guitars, they were pretty excited to get to using them right away, so it was paramount to first teach them how to properly care for the instrument that hopefully will be become an avenue of expression for them.

The goal for this project is to learn a song for the holiday festival at our school where they will perform a song showcasing what they have learned through our guitar lessons. That is the short term goal, the long term goal is for them to enjoy guitar laying that they continue to play it for the rest of their lives”
