Communication Looks Different On Everyone!
Funded Sep 12, 2024I work in an urban school district with no budget for materials for related service providers (like me, a speech therapist). Because of the kindness and generosity of donors like you, I am now able to provide services with activity cards that target a variety of different language goals. For my students with autism, these picture cards have been exceptionally helpful. These particular students are visual learners, so it is vital to have appropriate materials to facilitate their learning. They are working on improving their social pragmatic skills, therefore the "All About You, All About Me" cards have been a great ice breaker activity for them!
I also create and disperse language lessons, materials, and visuals aids to teachers within my schools. As a result, I am always in need of laminating sheets. These three boxes of laminating sheets have helped me provide communication boards to six different substantially separate classrooms! I will also be making visuals for other classrooms as well throughout the year. These are the most used item in my classroom!
Finally, my students are working on communicating their wants, needs, and feelings. The emotions coin drop toy has been amazing for my students and social emotional learning goals.
Because of your generosity, I will be able to provide meaningful and effective speech therapy lessons that will increase my student's functional language. I will also be able to provide EACH student with the visuals they need to be successful!
THANK YOU!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Thibault
