Math Manipulatives for Mathematicians!
Funded Sep 12, 2024Students have been using the counters and 10 frames to practice their numeracy skills and build numbers up to 10. These manipulatives have been a powerful tool for helping them become more fluent in number recognition and basic mathematical concepts. By physically building numbers with counters, students are able to engage with numbers in a hands-on way, solidifying their understanding of how numbers are constructed.
Students loved the opportunity to work with hands-on materials like the counters and 10 frames. These manipulatives provided an engaging way for students to practice number building and made abstract math concepts feel more concrete. The tactile nature of the tools seemed to keep the students focused and eager to explore different number combinations and patterns.
The next steps for students involve deepening their numerical fluency. They will continue using the math manipulatives to practice adding and subtracting numbers, using the tools to visualize and solve simple equations. These activities will help them build a strong foundation for more advanced math concepts in the future, such as understanding place value and performing mental math.”

Future Scientists in Training!
Funded Oct 31, 2024Thank you so much for helping fund this project. It will provide many students with the opportunity to experience science through hands-on learning. Your support has made it possible for our students to participate in a Science Fair at our school—thank you again for making this opportunity a reality!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Harris
