1st Grade Math-A-Rama!
Funded Aug 19, 2011Thank you so much for your generous donations. Your contribution no matter how big or small has impacted the lives of students. Through your donations, my students and I received various mathematical resources that have helped with money and time concepts.
First off, my students' favorite contribution was the large size digital and analog clock. They use this everyday and now are excited about time. Moreover, they also really enjoy the other clocks. They are able to work on both the analog and digital time interactively. Through these resources, all of my students are able to tell time to the half-hour. This is the standard for their grade.
In addition, the games that specialize in the concept of money have been incredible assets during math. My students are able to manipulate and exchange coins. As well as count dimes, nickels and pennies which is also the standard.
Thank you again for you contribution. My students and I are extremely appreciative for your kindness.”

Reading Superstars!
Funded Aug 16, 2011Thank you so much for your generous donations. Your contribution no matter how big or small has impacted the lives of students. Through your donations my students and I received a class set of reading pads and a set of bins to organize the classroom library.
First off, the reading pads are incredible. During reading workshop the students use the pads to read on the floor during their independent reading time. This allows my students to be dispersed throughout the room and have more of a private reading experience. Many of my students are still reading aloud so it creates a quieter ambiance to reading workshop. Moreover, the pads are colorful and exciting. My students look forward to reading time because they know that they get to be cuddle up with their pad and one of their favorite books.
In addition, the library bins have organized our library so that is accessibly to the students. The library is organized by reading level as well as by fiction, non-fiction and character sets. I believe when children feel that they have ownership in their learning they are more able to succeed. Through the contribution of the bins, my students have developed ownership for the classroom library and look forward to book shopping every week.
Thank you again for you contribution. My students and I are extremely appreciative for your kindness.”
