Help Us Bring Clay Creations to Life
Funded Dec 25, 2024Art has the power to inspire, heal, and transform. For young students, hands-on creative experiences can be life-changing, providing them with a sense of accomplishment, confidence, and joy. Thanks to a generous donation of clay, the students at P.S. 125 were given a rare and meaningful opportunity to explore sculpture and three-dimensional art in ways that would not have been possible otherwise.
From the moment my students saw the clay, their excitement was undeniable. Many had never worked with it before, and their curiosity took over as they eagerly touched, rolled, and shaped the material. One student exclaimed, "It's like magic! I can make anything I want!" That sense of wonder quickly turned into focused creativity as we began a special project: sculpting small figures and objects that represented something important to them. Some created animals they love, others made food inspired by their cultural backgrounds, and a few even sculpted self-portraits.
This donation provided my students with more than just art supplies—it gave them a chance to explore their creativity, practice patience, and develop problem-solving skills as they worked through the challenges of sculpting. In a school where art resources are limited, this was an especially meaningful gift. It allowed students to engage with a tactile and expressive medium that enriched their learning experience, reinforcing the idea that art is for everyone.
Looking ahead, we will be taking this project even further. After completing their sculptures, students will be painting and adding a finish to their pieces to add final details, turning their initial creations into polished works of art. We are also planning district 5 exhibition where students can share their work with peers, teachers, and family members, allowing them to take pride in what they've accomplished. Some students have even expressed interest in learning more advanced clay techniques, and I'm excited to continue guiding them in their artistic journey.
This donation was more than just a gift of materials. It was a gift of opportunity, expression, and inspiration. It allowed students to dream, create, and believe in their artistic abilities. The generosity behind this contribution will continue to shape their creative journeys, and for that, we are deeply grateful.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Andrea

Funded Sep 4, 2024I hope this letter finds you well! I am excited to share the incredible impact your generous support for our art room has had on our students. Thanks to your contributions, we now have a vibrant collection of yarn, oil pastels, watercolors, and essential art materials that have truly transformed our creative space.
From the moment the new supplies arrived, the excitement in our classroom was undeniable. I'll never forget the look on my students' faces when they first saw the colorful yarn and fresh watercolors. Their eyes lit up with enthusiasm as if a spark of inspiration ignited within them.
One memorable project we undertook was crafting alebrijes—vibrant, imaginative creatures made from a variety of materials. The students painted their designs with watercolors, and it was incredible to witness how they fused their creativity with design techniques. The result was a stunning collection that authentically showcased their individuality.
Additionally, we embarked on creating worry dolls, a project that allowed students to engage with a meaningful cultural tradition. They utilized a wide variety of materials, including fabric scraps, yarn, and beads, to craft these small dolls. This process not only fostered creativity but also sparked discussions about emotions and how to express them through art.
Thank you for believing in our students and supporting their artistic endeavors. Your generosity has provided them with new materials and inspired confidence and creativity that they will carry with them for years to come. We can't wait to share our progress with you and show you how your support is making a difference.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Andrea
