Cu Later Lab

I appreciate that you donated to help fund what I refer to as the "Cu Later" lab. Students took a piece of copper and made four difference copper compounds using various reactions. The last step allowed students to get the copper metal back. Students who did a particularly good job not only got their 1.0 gram of Cu back at the end but also got a fairly pure sample.

This was an excellent review of stoichiometry and reaction types for the students. In addition, it gave them insight to descriptive chemistry that they otherwise would not have seen.

Lastly, I have used this equipment for other labs so the gift has kept on giving- and will continue to do so.”
