Regular and Special Educational Rural Resources Public School Learning Closet
Funded Nov 13, 2024I just wanted to let you know that your help has enabled our Special Educational Students, and some of our General Educational students as well, to be able to cope better with their daily challenges in life. The books on anger management, violence, diversity, adoption, and sharing are truly working for rural students who do not have any children neighbors to play with and socialize with as well as to learn caring and sharing with.
We read the materials and use the books and manipulatives several times a week, and they have added to our very limited classroom budget by offering alternative educational learning games and tools the very financially-strapped families may never have seen. One student who refused to do work because she got jealous anytime the teacher worked with a different child, has read the Anger book a lot, and now truly understands her value and worth, while "sharing" the Teacher somewhat better! Another student who refused to EVER sit down in the classroom, and who just walked around all day, and hit folks a lot, has begun to sit most of the time for his two meals we give, and sometimes is also beginning to sit a little bit while we try to instruct him for future strength and a well - rounded foundation to develop further. He has almost completely stopped the dangerous biting all day: this is due to your books, such as "keeping your hands to yourself," etc.
The items you allowed us to use, play dough, etc., are growing more creative imaginations and futures! Thank you so very much for your impact with our Team!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Comiskey
