Calculators for STEAM.
Funded Aug 27, 2024When we first set out to raise funds for this initiative, we knew we needed to engage our community and highlight the importance of financial literacy. Your willingness to contribute demonstrated commitment to our students and the belief that they deserve access to quality educational resources. It is inspiring to see individuals like you step up to support education, and it reassures us that our efforts to enhance our curriculum are shared by others who value the future of our students.
Thank you so much for your generous support in helping us raise over $700 for our Financial Math class. Your contributions made it possible for us to purchase 10 Casio calculators, which will greatly enhance our mathematics labs. We are truly grateful for your commitment to our students' education and success.
Unique to the Casio fx-9750GIII is the ability to add matrices. The manipulation and display of matrices is an important skill in financial mathematics. Using matrices students can display data such as prices, inflation effects, supply and demand changes over time, etc. The Casio OS makes entering and manipulating these functions easy and intuitive. Other calculator OSs has the ability to manipulate matrices, but the input and functions can be tricky for some students to master. Having 10 Casio fx-9750GIIIs allows me to spread the calculators to students who can't afford them. Providing one calculator for every two students ensures all students can participate in the lab, and hands-on learning with the calculators is crucial.
In today's increasingly complex financial landscape, equipping students with practical skills in financial mathematics is more important than ever. These calculators are not just tools; they represent a gateway for our students to explore essential concepts that will benefit them in their academic journey and future careers. With your support, we are now able to provide a hands-on learning experience that allows students to engage deeply with the material.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Dee
