This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT.Under the Sea: Crafting Our Biome Oasis!
Funded Oct 3, 2024I want to express my deepest gratitude for your generous contribution to our "Biomes" classroom project. Your support made a remarkable difference, and the students had an unforgettable learning experience!
Thanks to your donations, the students were able to create their very own fishbowls. They carefully selected and arranged the aquarium rocks, plants, and goldfish into their mason jars, and then filled them with water. The excitement was palpable as every student chose a name for their new "pet". Watching them take ownership of their projects was such a joy!
Additionally, the books and bulletin board set you provided allowed us to dive into the study of seven different biomes. These materials were a perfect match for our students' reading levels, offering both informative content and vivid illustrations and photographs that truly brought the biomes to life. (Sending a BIG thank you to the SONIC Foundation who helped fund this project too!)
The students were then tasked with creating an informational packet and a diorama for one of the biomes. The students worked very hard on both pieces and their dioramas turned out wonderfully. I've included pictures of two of them for you to see.
I also wanted to let you know that one of the classroom teachers came by a few days after the project and mentioned how calming the students found their new "pets." Inspired by this, she decided to start a "Donors Choose" project in hopes of acquiring a classroom fish tank for her own students. Your donation continues to inspire and ripple out into other classrooms!
Once again, thank you for making this learning experience possible. Your generosity is deeply appreciated by both the students and myself!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Holt
