Stanec Memorial Media Center Ipad Station

Having this iPad station in our Media Center has made a huge difference to our students and in memorializing our principal. We have been able to give students access to something they probably would not otherwise have, and have been able to do it in a way that it impacts our entire building, which is something I know Scott wanted.

I've had a few very special moments working with students on the iPads. One happens to be severely autistic, and has a hard time communicating. When he and I first sat together at the station, I showed him how to use the iPad. He would move my hand around, and then move it away to show me it was his turn. He started using an app to show me things that were his favorites, and he wrote letters that we really hadn't known he knew.
