I teach at a school that is a high poverty school. Most of the kiddos that attend there do not have access to great literature. They are amazing kids that have amazing stories and I want to equip them to be able to tell those stories. One of the best ways to learn is to see the concept you are trying to learn modeled for you. With a library full of rich mentor text my students will be able to read and study the way that great authors write! I want to give them every opportunity to become people who make positive changes in the world, starting with how they write!
