They enjoy the opportunities for hands-on labs with their science coursework and will be eager to use the new equipment to collect data for our upcoming unit on energy transfers and transformation. The scales will help them confirm the conservation of mass and thermometers will be used to track temperature during phase changes to compare the specific heat capacity of different substances or systems.
