  • Alternative Experiences for My Students

    Funded Feb 6, 2025

Thank you so much for getting this for my students. They are such smart kids who deserve to be educated about the world. They live in a small corner of Florida which is limited in its ability to see others in the world. Educating them about art and real world situations is vital to their growth.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Joiner

  • Give My Students Access to Hygiene and School Basics

    Funded Feb 5, 2025

Thank you so much for donating for my kids. These kids deserve so much more than I have access to buy for them and these donations allow for my kids to be comfortable in their own skin whilst sitting in my classroom. Thank you again for all that you gave.”

  • Our Impoverish Students Deserve Access to Materials

    Funded Aug 29, 2024

I have 156 students in my class alone. They are almost all in less privileged home lives. Many are without access to their own computers, printers, or other similar devices. The English department specifically spends a lot of our time in the teacher copy room with our two copiers. These copiers are regularly down, and without a back up we are out of luck with the lessons we want to teach. My students should be able to access the article we are talking about, they should be able to print and complete their homework, and they should have access to stories. Now with this copier, it is a back up. The English teachers all know I have this copier they can use for their students. The access to their materials uninhibited makes my students very happy. Many of my students know they can use it to print an assignment. I am very thankful for your help with my project.”

  • African American Awareness for Reading

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Black No More is a book that was written in the 1930's and is a soft introduction to the way the United States worked at the time. Books like this are great to show a comparison of modern issues and past issues that dictated our society. It also is a introduction to capitalism and the way humans thrive in difficult situations

Reading is an every day thing in my classroom. The students are learning to love it, while they have been taught that it is unimportant prior. As a teacher at Eastside we are constantly working to overcome outside influences and the prior lessons that our students have been taught. They have decided they are unintelligent even though they are brilliant. I combat that by allowing them to read in small groups where the pressure is off. This way they can encourage each other.

Many of my students enjoyed this book, however even others who did not were able to learn how to accurately express their feelings. Allowing them to convey their likes and dislikes in a constructive manor. I am beyond grateful for your generous donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Joiner
