Heads or Tails? Heads for Headphones.
Funded Dec 3, 2024Thank you so much for your very generous donation of a class set of 25 black headphones into my Kindergarten classroom. This class set of headphones are sturdy and not only will help to provide for this year's classroom but many years to come. Students have access to their own individual headphones that fit their heads which helps them learn life skills of caring for their own belongings.
Students use their chromebooks daily for two main computer programs. One is called Lexia and it is a reading program that is personalized for each student based on their needs. In this software students have to listen to many different reading questions in order for them to respond to the desired task to pass through the levels. With the headphones students are able to hear the program clearly and not have to worry about any other noise distractions. Another program students use is called ST math and this program focuses on math skills in a game-like way. Once they pass onto another level or get an answer correct the game makes a chime sound and students get excited to pass the level and hear the sound. These headphones have been a great addition to our classroom because now everyone can have a pair that fits them and do not have to take turns using these softwares.
In addition, I was able to label and assign each headphone pair to every child based on their groupings. I also have plenty of extra headphones for new students. Students' headphones are organized by individual headphone bags with their names on it and then grouped together in one bigger bag by color group. Students are also able to learn how to properly store their headphones and tie them up together so the string does not get tangled. Lastly, I want to thank you again because my present and future students as well as I are endlessly grateful for your thoughtfulness and generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Cryts
