Arts Audio/Video Communications, which is a middle school course, is a relatively new class offered at MLK Arts Academy, and I have mostly used my personal equipment for projects. Despite limited resources, my students have been able to achieve a lot. They have made short films, podcasts, visual effects, screenplays and animations. For a lot of them, this is the first time students have had the opportunity to work with Audio/Video equipment in an academic setting. My students knowledge and enthusiasm for technology is already strong. I am hoping to obtain more equipment as time goes by so they can continue to produce great work that shares their voices, technical skill, and creativity. They have big hearts, a strong will, and bright minds. I am fortunate that I able to teach a subject that I have a deep passion for, but I am even more grateful it is with my students.
