Moving Around the Math Classroom

Funded Sep 2, 2024

The supplies that the donors have provided for my mathematics classroom this year have been a terrific addition.

In my classroom, I like to get the students up and moving. We frequently do Gallery Walks in the hallway that allow the students to move around while also practicing math questions. Sometimes they are solving a riddle or maybe just practicing quick concept check questions. The clipboards have allowed students to do this in a much better fashion. Previously they would use markerboards or a binder/clipboard as a makeshift clipboard. Now, students can grab one of the brightly colored clipboards before they go out in the hallway. They have loved using them! In a Gallery Walk, Students can freely move and work with classmates. It also allows them to get one-on-one help but in a much less obvious format than me hovering over their desk in the classroom. I frequently do these on a block day where students are in my classroom for an hour and half. It really helps break up the long class period for them!

Every year I spend a lot of my own money on supplies. I am so greatly to have help this year and be able to provide my students with more. Thank you so much!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Schneweis
