Markers, Colored Pencils, and Scissors, Oh My!
Funded Apr 28, 2009It is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to write you this thank you letter. I can not begin to describe in words what your generous donation to my students has done to enhance their learning. Your generous gift of a binding machine and comb binds has really impacted the learning environment in my classroom and given the students extra motivation to complete their work.
It has always been important to me as an educator, to provide my students with the basic elements I believe are necessary for an effective writing center. While many teachers feel this is simply paper and something to write with, through experience, I have learned that students become better readers and writers when they are supplied with more then just paper and pencils. My students yearn to have their work look professional and with limited funds and supplies giving them that opportunity can be difficult.”

Pen to Paper to BOOK!!!
Funded Apr 8, 2008Thank you so much for choosing to fund this project. Having access to a binding machine in a literacy classroom allows me the opportunity to enhance my students work and encourage them to produce the best work possible. Often times my students unit projects require a variety of assignments which are collected into portfolios. It has become a challenge to think of new and exciting ways to present there work.
My students are writers and they are often writing long pieces that I can not represent in a clean and polished manner with this binding machine. They will now feel even more proud to present their work during parent teacher conferences, assemblies, and other events which they often attend and have to show off what they have accomplished this year.
Thank you again for your continued support of the education of our youth. Your consideration helps me to push my student so the next level and help them towards their ultimate goals and dreams”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Crowley
Stop...Hey...What's That Sound...
Funded Feb 1, 2008Thank you so much for funding this proposal. I was fortunate enough to receive funding for books on tape and CD but with no equipment to play them, I have been forced to put them on hold until I was able to borrow the equipment from a friend who teaches at another school.
Now that I will have these materials in my classroom my students, especially those who dislike to read will be able to keep up with the rest of the students during independent reading, learn new things through books, and build vocabulary. This proposal is so important for my English language learners. Being able to hear English is an important tool in helping them better learn and understand the language.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Thank you again and thank you for helping contribute to the education of your future.
Sincerely,
Kristin ”

Giving A Voice To Struggling Writers
Funded Dec 29, 2007Thank you so much for your gracious funding of this very special project. Allowing my students to speak their writing is going to help them ten fold. So many of them do not see their mistakes when they are writing but are very conscious of them when they type them and mistakes are underlined. They also tend to hear their mistakes when they read their work out loud. This laptop which will remain with my students will be a much needed and welcome addition to my eager students.
Thank you again for helping me start the new year in my classroom off with a bang.
Sincerely,
Kristin ”

The Power of the Spoken Word
Funded Dec 24, 2007Thank you so much for this wonderful holiday gift. It was so nice to open my mail and see that you thought of myself and my students during the holidays. Books on tape give the students another option in reading and really help my students, especially those with learning and language difficulties learn English quicker. These books will be well used and I am looking forward to working them into the curriculum.
Thank you again and for your help in supporting the education of children. God Bless”

Essentials for an Excellent Education
Funded Oct 4, 2007As my students finished their unit of study on realistic fiction, I noticed how quickly they went though paper, colored pencils, markers, and white-out in their efforts to make their work perfect. I drove home from work today trying to calculate in my head exactly how much it was going to cost me for the year to keep them supplied with these essentials. So to find out that I was funded put the biggest smile on my face.
It is so important to me to make sure that my students move through the writing process with ease. There first stories far surpassed my expectation and I want to do everything in my power to make sure that continues
We are moving into a literacy unit that will have the students creating brochures. Your generous funding of this grant will ensure that the students have the resources they need for this unit and future units to excel in school.
Thank you so much for considering my grant and your continued support of education.
Sincerely,

Life Cycles Live!!!
Funded Apr 6, 2007It is with sincerest thanks that I write you this letter. I was so excited to open my mail today and see that this project has been funded. I can not begin to explain how excited my students will be when we receive these materials and are able to watch the varying life cycles live in the classroom. I try to do as much hands on activities with my students as possible but I have always been limited. Your donation will make a dream of mine come true.
I will never forget hatching frogs, butterflies, and chickens in my third grade classroom. It was the best school year I had. Because of your generous donation I hope I will be able to do the same for my students.
Thank you again, I really can not begin to express my gratitude”
