The literacy block is the longest part of the day for students in lower elementary school. In order to ensure success, it is important that materials are organized and close by. During this 90-minute block, students will be working in a whole group, remediating skills independently and meeting with me in a small group. Students need to know where to go to get the materials they need to complete activities and have a place to store books for independent reading. Students can store their books and response notebooks in the the chair pockets. I can organize materials for small group reading and differentiated independent work in the multi-purpose carts.
